I'm kinda guessing where this will go but I'll try anyways...
One of the most tedious things is playing the mini-game wack-a-mole $0.01 hell. I rather like the business side of EVE but my god why can't we just set a "lowest sell price" and then walk away to do other things. (and why are things even sole in .01 increments anyways)
Doing this with 40+ orders apx every 5 minutes is such a waste of time and considering the technology exists about +20 years ago, why doesn't the world of EVE have this? |

Serendipity Lost wrote:I say the same thing about having to undock to do missions all the time. Why must I go to a mission site and play whack a mole mini games with those funny little red shapes. I should be able to 'accept mission' and then walk away to do other things. Auto pilot should be able to do all the boring parts of the game, not just warp me gate to gate.
Google has self driving cars right now, why doesn't the world of EVE have this?
So you are equating moving a price down a penny to completing full missions...ok then... |

Serendipity Lost wrote:1 penny = 1 mission, but then again over time that's where this is going, so maybe we should just get there now. Maybe just put a flat 2 bill isk in my wallet just for logging in. That way I would have isk to do with as I please w/out doing stuff for it.
But I've already done "stuff for it" whether that was mine, build, destroy (as in your ratting example ironically), ship or trade. That is the "doing" part and I haven't any qualms about that. Regardless of where the gear/ships/widgets originated from, you still have to deal with the pre-1970 era transaction system.
My suggestion actually would benefit ratters in bling ships grinding LvL1 missions...kinda son't get your objections here... |

Would love to do something like this but the in-game tools are not there and I dislike having to go 3rd party/external to make something work in EVE. |

So then you are agreeing that this concept would be used and enjoyed by many? Thanks! I Agree! |

Rowells wrote:so what happens when more than one person uses this function? Do, hundreds of orders combat each other until the price hits zero?
Orders would be show per price-point, not per order. So even if 6 people were selling 5 Atrons each for $500k, the line would just show: 30 x $500,000
That line would be highlighted showing that your items are in at that price-point. The system then sells the ships off in order of time of sell order (as per now).
If $500K was the lowest price then buyers would just get ships from that one line.
If a new seller added 10 ships at $490k then that would become the new lowest price. If two people at the $500k price-point had $490 or lower as their lowest sell price, then those ships would be moved out of the $500K price-point and moved to the lower $490k price-point.
When you initially sell an item(s), you enter both the initial price you want to sell at and the lowest....that's it. |

Tiddle Jr wrote:why would CCP has to agree to do that for you?
Why not? As you said there are many others that would also like this function. I think I've put the effort into trying to explain and clarify my side of it, how about you put a little more effort into explaining what's wrong with it.... |

Ok...thanks for all the info/points. I guess this is just another one of the "suspend disbelief and play the game" issues.
I'll look into 3rd party options (not bots) I guess to see what's possible....contracts are an option.
Thanks again! |
